The Texas Class C UST Operator Training is designed to provide general, emergency-response training to personnel who work at underground storage tank (UST) facilities. Online Class C training, such as this course, if deemed acceptable to the facility Class B Operator, is a TCEQ-approved method of training. Facility-specific training, provided by the Class B Operator, is also required to complete the training. Upon completion of this training, the Class C Operator will receive a certificate of completion. The certificate must be signed by the Class C Operator and the Class A or B Operator must also sign the certificate confirming that facility-specific training has also been completed. The Class C Operator is a person routinely working at a UST facility, such as a gas station attendant, who is also responsible for the immediate response to a problem at an UST facility.  This individual is responsible for responding to alarms or other indications of emergencies caused by spills or releases from UST systems. This individual notifies the Class B or Class A Operator and appropriate emergency responders when necessary.  During hours of operation, at least one certified Class A, B or C UST Operator must be present at the facility.  Class C operator training must cover how to respond to an alarm or emergency.  This individual typically and at a minimum must be trained to take action as the initial response to emergencies such as: Situations posing an immediate danger or threat to the public or to the environment and that require immediate action. Alarms caused by spills or releases from a UST system. Our Class C Operator Course and Certification provides training on the following: Introduction to a generic UST facility including the major fuel system components and emergency equipment; The roles and responsibilities of the Class A, B and C UST Operators; Emergency contact procedures; Safety awareness for employees and customers; Monitoring of the UST facility; Overfill prevention; Fire safety and introduction to fire extinguishers; Alarm panel recognition and response procedures; Fuel spill response, containment, and cleanup; and Development of site-specific emergency procedures. At the end of the course, a 10 question exam is administered and you will be required to answer 8 out of 10 questions correctly to be certified. Course Description This web-based course is designed to prepare prospective Class A and B Underground Storage Tank Operators to take the State of Utah Class A and B Operator Exam. This self-paced course allows the student to start and pause the training during its delivery. The course must be completed within 6 months of its start. The course utilizes visual aids and audio commentary to facilitate the efficient and comprehensive learning of the subject matter required to meet Utah?s state regulations for a UST Class A or B Operator. The training course has been approved by the State of Utah Department of Environmental Quality, Division of Environmental Response and Remediation as preparation for the Utah Class A or B Operator Exam. Topics Covered The following topics are covered in this course: Class A, B and C Operator roles, and responsibilities Overview of UST systems UST operator requirements Release detection Record keeping Release reporting, confirmation, and corrective action Learning Objectives The overall objective is to educate the prospective Class A or B operator on the State of Utah and USEPA Federal Regulations governing the operation of underground storage tanks. This online course is designed to train and certify West Virginia Class A and B Underground Storage Tank Operators. This self-paced course allows the student to start and pause the training during its delivery. The course utilizes visual aids and audio commentary to facilitate the efficient and comprehensive learning of the subject matter required to meet West Virginia state regulations for a UST Class A or B Operator. At the end of the training, a 30-question exam will be administered. You must answer 80% of the questions on the exam correctly (24 out of 30). The training course has been approved by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP) as a means of gaining Class A and B Operator Certification. Read more
